
Traditional arthroscopic surgery relies on two-dimensional planar images,where doctors need to judge the spatial location of the lesion based on experience,which has limitations such as restricted field of view and high operational difficulty.The 3D arthroscopy system applied this time,through special lens imaging technology,projects the structures inside the joint cavity in a three-dimensional form in real time onto the 4K display screen.Surgeons can intuitively observe the three-dimensional shapes of tissues such as the meniscus,ligaments,and cartilage.Combined with AI-assisted analysis,it can accurately identify the range of lesions and the degree of injury.
According to Professor Lv Songcen of HMUH,the chief surgeon,the patient in this surgical case was a 33-year-old individual with a complex meniscus tear in the knee joint.With the aid of 3D imaging,the surgical team was able to clearly identify the vascular zones of the tear site(such as the"red zone"and"white zone")during the operation,and selected the optimal treatment plan to maximize the preservation of healthy meniscus tissue.As a result,the patient's expected recovery of joint function is projected to increase by 30%.Additionally,the 4K ultra-high-definition image quality significantly enhanced the visibility of fine blood vessels and nerves,reducing intraoperative bleeding and shortening the surgical time to two-thirds of that of traditional techniques.
The introduction of the 3D arthroscopy not only enhances the precision of surgery,but also promotes the intelligent development of the diagnosis and treatment process.The application of this technology by HMUH is another milestone in the construction of smart hospitals in Heilongjiang Province.
Professor Lv Songcen pointed out:"The 3D arthroscopy is not a simple replacement for traditional technology,but rather a solution to the pain points in the diagnosis and treatment of complex cases through stereoscopic vision and intelligent analysis.In the future,we need to further explore its application in small joints such as shoulders and ankles,and reduce the technical costs to benefit more grassroots patients."
